Ford’s Ranger Super Duty is the most heavy-duty & capable version of the Ranger platform to date, designed for greater towing, payload & off-road capability. Building on the Next-Gen Ranger, it features significant upgrades to the chassis, suspension, driveline & cooling systems to handle higher loads & more demanding conditions. Powered by Ford’s 3.0L V6 turbo-diesel engine, the Super Duty is built with durability & load-carrying capability at the forefront, making it particularly well suited to towing large caravans, boats & trailers, as well as demanding touring & off-road applications. Despite sharing the same 3.0L V6 turbo-diesel engine as the Next-Gen Ranger, the heavier Super Duty produces approximately 30kW less power, with factory output restricted to suit its heavy-duty application. Combined with increased vehicle weight, larger tyres, accessories & heavy towing, there is considerable scope to improve performance & driveability through custom dyno tuning & supporting upgrades.
