TOYOTA HIACE
Popular amongst courier drivers & tradies, or converted to camper-vans, these vans boast long-wheelbases & fantastic packaging/load space, whilst still offering a comfortable ride. From 2006 til 2018, the HiAce featured the 3-litre 4 cylinder turbo engine (1KD – as found in the N70 HiLux & 120 Series Prado), which responds very well to modifications & tuning. From 2020, Toyota introduced the 2.8L 1GD engine to the HiAce fleet, which is also found in the N80 HiLux, Fortuner & 150 Series/250 Series Prado. Both of these engines are quite detuned from factory & respond nicely to custom dyno tuning, especially improving the road driveability of the vehicle.
