TOYOTA HILUX N90
In late 2025, the next-generation Toyota HiLux N90 arrived, retaining the proven 2.8L 1GD-FTV turbo-diesel engine but introducing 48-volt “V-Active” mild-hybrid technology to the automatic SR, SR5 and Rogue models. This system pairs a compact electric motor generator with the 1GD block to deliver a noticeable improvement in engine smoothness, crisper throttle response, and better fuel efficiency. Mechanically, the engine maintains its strong 150kW of power and 500Nm of torque. Just like its predecessor, this updated 1GD platform responds very well to custom dyno tuning.
