HILUX N80 & FORTUNER (High Output)
In late 2020, the next model HiLux N80 was released, with a “High output” 1VD engine. So, still the same engine as in the previous N80 Hilux, but with some changes, which has resulted in an increase in power and torque and an improvement in efficiency. These changes include cylinder head revisions for better cooling; cylinder block improvements for rigidity; new cooling fan and coupling; revised DPF system; an improved turbocharger; amongst others. An improved head gasket has also been added into the mix, to handle the higher turbo boost levels that these high output engines have over the low output ones. The Fortuner has also had the same engine improvements as well. Both are Toyota-Tough, extremely popular and great vehicles all round. The engines respond nicely to custom dyno tuning, especially improving the road driveability of the vehicle.
